If you are anything like me, then the highlight of your morning is the process or brewing, preparing and drinking your morning coffee. To me, morning coffee is the most enjoyable experience of the day. So here are my super quick and easy tips on enjoying that perfect cup of coffee.
First off, your coffee maker must be of top quality. You can’t go wrong with the Tassimo, but there are also many others that will give you quality, consistent gourmet coffee each and every time. I always say that the more you pay for a coffee maker, the better. Just be sure yours can provide the features that you want and need.
Secondly come the beans. The perfect cup of coffee can be easily ruined by stale or poor quality coffee beans. I actually like to buy beans from Dunkin Donuts, but I have also found quality Columbian beans over at the grocery store as well. I don’t know if you’ve picked up on it or now, but I always use fresh whole beans and not the pre-ground instant stuff, ever.
The third piece to our perfect cup of morning coffee equation is the water itself. Since water is the basis of the drink, it stands to reason that it must be the best water available. I personally use a reverse osmosis drinking water system to filter my water, and my coffee maker also has a charcoal filter to further purify, but that is must me. The key for you is to be consistent. Always use water from the same source, every time so as to keep your java a consistent, good flavor every day.
Next we need to think about the cream and sugar. For me, I definitely need a couple tea spoons of cream in my coffee, just to lighten it up a little. The key with cream is to always use the exact same amount. You will also find that low fat creams do not add as much flavor to the coffee as does full bore half and half. I also like to add in Splenda instead of sugar to my morning java. I don’t know why, but the Splenda has a stronger, sweeter taste to me.
That’s really about it! I know it sounds like a lot to go through just for some coffee, but once you taste the best, you can settle for nothing less!
